Gremyne Sunsets

Zende opened her eyes and wished she'd kept them closed. But the images followed her anyway. She saw the ground hurl toward her, she felt the wind bash into her and she had the sensation that something or someone was intending to catch her.
"No." she whispered, too scared to scream.
Her whisper and discomfort were enough to wake Zonder who was laying beside her.
"What's happening in the middle of the ...?"
He stopped speaking and by the look on his face Zende could tell that he too was having these strange sensations.
"What's happening?" she asked.
"I don't know, I can see Marvodeth though."
"Marvodeth? I don't see her."
"You are with me though." the voice of her dragon told her in her mind.
"But Where are we?"
"You are probably in your bed." Olelikoth added himself to the conversation.
"We are flying." Marvodeth agreed.
"Why?" Zonder asked.
"Because I'm full grown and I can't wait." Marvodeth sighed, "I tried to hold back, but I needed to. I can't stop myself."
"I'm happy to oblige trying to catch her before someone else's dragon does."
"Wait." Zonder said, "There are others chasing?"
"Of course there are." Marvodeth remarked.
"She's quite popular."
"But Olelikoth needs to win." Zende said.
"He will." Marvodeth said, "If he can keep up. You two could help him a bit too."
"How would we do that?" Zonder asked, not to anyone in particular.
"You have to make Zende really want you." Olelikoth grinned, "I'm sure you can find out how to do that."
