The First Mind Pairing

A scream sounded over the peaceful Chindor Castle. It was a dark misty night, stars couldn't be seen. 
The scream sounded once more waking everybody.
'Ulf what's wrong?' Scareh asked a bit scared.
'Don't worry love.. I'll take a look.'
'Not alone you will! I'm coming with you.' Ulf didn't answer. If Scareh wanted to follow, he knew she would follow him. Better that he could see where she was going.
When they heard yet another scream, they both ran towards the Deep Caverns. 
'This damned mist makes it impossible to see anything!' Ulf muttered under his breath. Scareh slowed her pace when Ulf almost crashed into the cave.
Scareh couldn't help but giggle, which got her an almost destructing stare of Ulf.
'Lets go inside.' He said coldly. When Ulf turned his back toward her, she smiled again, trying to control her mouth.
'Lloyd!' Ulf asked demanding. But it wasn't the pink haired man that came into the light, it was Raf. Ulf cursed softly. No man liked Raf.. Not to say that they would rather see him death..
'What is all that screaming good for?' Ulf asked with his low voice. Scareh knew what that meant... It all depended on the answer Raf would give him.. It could turn out that Raf would be killed after all...
'My sweet Nelladuar....' Raf waved his hands violently. Scareh wondered how he could do it that fast and not feel any pain.. 
'Calm down Raf..' Scareh said softly. 'Tell me what happened.'
'Raf... Call the asssspirantsss... My eggssssss...' A whisper came from the dark of the cavern. Another scream touched Raf's lips. Scareh jumped in front of Ulf to hold him down.. Ulf wasn't that patient when somebody disturbed his sleep...
'Ulf why don't you go call for Lloyd and Houdini.. He is after all the father..' She looked sweetly at him. He turned round muttering something about a poor man with pink hair.
'Come Raf... We will call the aspirants.. Nelladuar wants to be alone right now.. It won't take long..'
Scareh grabbed Raf by the arm and guided him outside.
Raf followed her as a little lamb.. She had never seen anybody so... afraid at a hatching..
When they came at the rooms of the aspirants, everybody was awake. The two girls and boys. But they were waiting in the hallway to be picked up. 
Hrinaki jumped up when Scareh spoke. 'It is time. Follow us outside.'
In pairs of two they followed the high princes and Raf outside. They all knew Raf from the first day they arrived and Scareh thought the men regretted that day..
When Scareh came near the Cavern, Ulf came from the other direction with Lloyd and Houdini. When Lloyd saw Raf he wanted to turn round, but Houdini hissed something at him and he stayed where he was, far away from Raf. Normaly the pairing happened in a larg room next to the cavern, but their was no time for it. Nelladuar didn't want to wait and since everybody was standing outside...

It seemed a long time, for Raf a lifetime of worries, before Nelladuar came outside. Nobody really saw the hatchlings or Nelladuar because of the fog that hang around Chindor Castle.
'Nelladuar!' Raf screamed, waving his hands even more. Scareh took his hands in hers because she was afraid they would fall off if he waved just once more. 'Calm down Raf.. Just wait a little more.'  Scareh whispered to him.
Raf was still waving his hands in hers, although not as violent.
'Raf... Ssssweety.. Calm down.. We have 4 little babiesssss.'  Nelladuar hissed happily at Raf. It seemed that Raf calmed down just a little.
Come on... You can overreact you know.. Scareh thought. But she kept silent.
It staid quiet for a time and Scareh wondered what was wrong. Ulf was beginning to get irritated. 'Can't she hurrie up?' He asked Scareh in a whisper. Scareh only looked at Ulf from the corner of her eye. 'Be silent my love... It will happen soon enough.'
Ulf didn't say anything anymore, but he started sighing heavely.
Then suddenly Hrinaki jumped up startled when a little tail swept around his middle.
'Hissss name issss Harrarni.' Nelladuar hissed proudly. A little trembling sound came from Hrinaki. Scareh saw him tremble.. A thought flashed through her head: a second Raf? Soon Chindor would get a reputation.. But Scareh knew that Hrinaki was just a bit more scared then the average people, that was why he paired with a mud.
The next to hear a hissing sound was Satchy. Satchy peered though the fog and wondered when a drak would speak to her, or which colours had hatched... She was getting nervous and hoped from one feet to the other. Her ankle still felt a little painful when she had to stand for to long.
'Hellossss... I want to ssknow you bettersss.' Satchy thought she saw a grin on the little drak.  It seemed that the drak had a little s.. Even more than normal.
'Thisss isss Noulkarni!' Nelladuar added. Satchy and her Desert left to get some food.
Ulf looked at the two remaining aspirants. He wondered if the draks would hurry up. He wanted to get some sleep, tomorrow would be a long day.. This was the first clutch at Chindor. All the High princesses and prins would come and visit... Ulf couldn't help but sighing again. He looked at Scareh for a moment. She was so pretty.. He felt better just looking at her. His thoughts were interrupted because of another pairing.
Ulf saw the shapes of a well build drak. Though he couldn't see which colour. He thought it was male though.
Ulf got a little bit irritated when the drak just sat their.
'Sssssweetesssst Merlinarni... You can't ssssit their all night..'
'But I like sssitting... But I ssence sssome sssarcassm over their..'
Ulf knew that this young drak was a plant.
'Are you talking to me?' Naike asked.
'Yessssss....' Merlinarni said in a low sarcastic voice.
'Ah... I guess you will do.' Naike answered.
What an odd couple... Ulf thought as they saw them leave into the fog.
'And now for the lassssst pairing... Yessss  Klogniar, I waited with you... You are sssuch a pretty drak... Yesss.. You will be a great mother sssome day...'
Faschlia didn't even startle when she felt the warm nose against her hand. The little rain drak looked at her with bright eyes.
'Come Fassschlia... I'm hungry from all the waiting...'
'Come Scareh... Lets go sleep, now that their is some night left.'
'Ulf... I have some bad news... You see... It isn't over jet.. We need to get everything ready for our newest members of Chindor Castle..'
Ulf cried a little no, before he took Scareh in his arms and kissed her. 'Lets go then...'
