She grew up in a small town and joined the travelling musicians when she was only 14. Though her parents were reluctant to let her go, having one less mouth to feed would be a blessing. The troupe often circle back and Rya visits her family whenever she can. She is a quiet, caring young woman who lost her heart to Werner in mere months after joining the troupe. For now Rya is content to be where she is and to take it slow. In the future she and Werner might branch out.

Hatching:
Chelsay had been shoving hot compresses and caring oils inside the Deep Cavern along with the food for Bryduis and her draklings. There were three and that was how much info she'd gotten out of her drak despite her best efforts at bribery. That and they were healthy and quick studies so it wouldn't take much longer. Outside the Cavern doors, Ellkara guarded his family patiently. The Ore drak gleamed and his hair shone, proof that his mate's knight needed an outlet for her professional creativity. She usually catered to humans but since opening up her beauty farm at Chindor Castle, she'd also devised several treatments and products for draks to use. Much to Chad's relief, Chelsay had mostly used her time at Acicade to experiment on draks. But today, Chelsay had lingered close to her drak, reading notes and waiting.
When the knock came, nobody was surprised.
"We're ready." Bryduis let them know.
The notice was carried through the Castle and reached the buildings around it as well. People crowded inside the Deep Cavern and the aspirants were rushed in under applause and cheers. There were two humans and a dark not-quite drak waiting to pair. The knight, for Dhahailyth served Timara Castle, was good-natured, laid-back and though lacking a mane, he blended in and would be described as a dark night. Of the two woman, Rya was a local, or close to it. She was part of the travelling music band that had made Acicade their base. She was a dark-skinned, familiy-orientated woman with a caring nature. The other woman, Ebonsnap, was quite different. The words "bold" and "badass" were used to describe her and those who met her were oftentimes taunted into word battles or a fight. With her black clothes and flair for drama, she could not be overlooked.
Bryduis let out a little cough and took the attention back to her two remaining daughters. Both were water draklings but where one had teal wings, the other's were deep blue. The darker-coloured drakling quietly walked up to Dhahailyth who had already acknowledged both a bond and a mind-pair that cemented the link between them.
The lighter of the two waters then walked up to Rya and looked up with large eyes.
"My name isss Varais." she said carefully.
"You did well, thank you for chosing me." the musician replied.
A short speech and a few cheers signaled the end of the pairing ceremony and the start of the feast. Experienced knights and trainers congratulated the new pairs and offers were made for the coming years. Ebonsnap found herself swamped with propositions...

Knighthood:
Rya rushed from her music lesson to the drak training fields. Her guitar hung on her back with a colourful band and she was looking forward to serenading the draks later today to practice her performing. Zion had said she was improving and that was high praise from the energetic prodigy. Rya only hoped that she would one day be able to do what her teacher could.
As she approached the open fields that flanked one side of the forest Castle, her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden arrival of a familiar face. Rya squeeled and ran as fast as she could.
"How were you able to keep it a secret that you were coming back!" she called to her fiance.
"Easy, I told no-one and only decided today." Werner smiled as he hugged her.
"Ssso this iz your mate?" Varais asked.
"This is Werner and he's mine, yes." Rya boasted.
"And this is your knight's mate's drak Ludiz." Werner introduced.
"Charmed." the Day drak said with a wink, taking a quick sniff that made his knight laugh out loud.
"Behave!" Werner finally managed to say.
"But she sssmellss divine."
A little flutter of wingsails later, Varais replied rather coy: "You ssmell like szunshine." making the Day drak shine like the sun.
